Why, you may ask, would an aspiring author of crime fiction novels be writing factual articles? Well, as you may have seen if you have read other parts of the site, I am involved in a writing course through The Writers Bureau which covers all aspects of writing. Whilst I have chosen to concentrate on the fiction element of the course I am required to explore and develop my abilities in other areas of writing too. The initial piece of writing that I was to submit to The Writers Bureau was a factual article to assess whether I had the latent writing talent that they could help me to develop and this first item had to be about an event or place I had visited. The resultant piece is entitled The Tournament, click on the tab above to read the article in its entirety. The Writers Bureau praised the article and made some really helpful suggestions which I have taken on board for future articles (the version here is the original uncorrected/unedited one).
In future I will be trying all sorts of other writing too including childrens stories (which I have always wanted to write in any case) and play scripts, both for the radio and visual media, as well as many other avenues I shall be exploring. As each new category comes up I shall ask my trusty computer friend, Robin, to add a new section to the site so that you can all observe my progress.
In the meantime enjoy my Non-fiction writing and please feel free to comment on any section of the site and its contents. I look forward to hearing from you.
